❄️ DIY Fake Snow Recipe

Soft, fluffy, mouldable and so easy to make - this simple fake snow recipe is perfect for winter sensory play, small worlds, scooping, shaping and snowy little adventures.

You will need:

• 3–4 cups baking soda
• ½ cup white hair conditioner
• Large bowl or sensory tray

White conditioner works best if you want your snow to stay bright and snowy white.

How to make it:

1. Add the baking soda to a large bowl or tray.
2. Slowly mix in the conditioner, a little at a time.
3. Stir, squeeze and knead until fully combined.
4. Test the texture by squeezing a handful together.

You’re looking for a soft, powdery texture that holds its shape when pressed - a little like damp snow or kinetic sand.

Texture tips:

Too dry? Add a tiny squeeze of conditioner and mix again.
Too wet? Sprinkle in a little more baking soda.

Play ideas:

• Build mini snowmen
• Create a winter small world
• Add scoops, bowls and loose parts
• Use with Arctic animals or snowflake cutters
• Hide small treasures inside for children to dig and discover

For an extra chilly touch, pop the finished snow in the fridge or freezer for a short time before play.

Storage:

Store in an airtight container between play sessions. If it dries out, refresh with a tiny amount of conditioner.
